Little oranges in a bowl – but not how we usually see them.
Just a bit of fun with photographs, again. As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, rather than try to create the perfect photo – which never looks natural, anyway – I like to take them ‘down’ a little; strip them down towards something simpler and more basic. Something more artistic, I like to think.
Or kid myself, perhaps.
But there seems to be so little time at the moment. So far, I’ve only managed a second edit on two of the short stories for ‘A Dozen Destinies‘, leaving (obviously!) a grand total of ten still to do. And that’s before I hurl them towards a second beta reader.
Out by Christmas? In my dreams…
A very nice effect, like a serigraph on fabric.

Thanks, Robert. I’ve tried my hand at printing a few times, but never silk-screen. Another one on my ‘to do’ list!

These are very magical looking oranges indeed. And never underestimate the powers of a deadline! I do some of my best work at the very last minute. Onwards, my friend! Also, wine helps.

That shall be good to see such a great writing on December, What is beta reader?

Thanks, Phillip. And thanks for the follow. A beta reader is someone who proofreads a story for the author.

This is art. I would have even believed had you said this was painted and not photographed.

How come your photograph looks soooo “perfect” 😀

Perfect? Ooh, that’s kind!

I like how you’ve taken something so familiar and bended it with your artistic eye. I agree with Ashima: it looks like a painting.

Thanks, Monica. I had the intention of doing a lot more painting recently, but for various reasons have had very little time. This is obviously a little less time-intensive!

So is the ‘dozen destinies’ finished yet?

Sadly, things didn’t quite work out. I decided after a while I wasn’t happy with the combination of stories, and that two or three of them really needed to be re-written. In the end I put six or seven of them into a separate collection with some poems called ‘The Night Bus’ which I published last year.

I see. Will surely read the nightbus sometime in the future. Also, the assasin’s garden sounds interesting.
