Totally irrelevant photograph: Mt. Kanchenjunga from Darjeeling
I don’t suppose he would think of himself as an acrobat,
As anything special.
But I watch him measuring the distance by eye,
Before he gathers himself
And leaps,
Two…
Three…
Four feet into the depths
Down
To land on the tip of a tiny wooden post,
All four paws
Together.
Beautiful words and a truly stunning random photo.

A beautiful picture. We were there last Christmas and the mountain was nothing short of mesmerising.

He sounds like an acrobat to me.

Ha! Great poem. And you’re right that the photo has nothing to do with the poem… though both are beautiful.

The photo is breathtaking and the poem I can totally relate to, having 6 moggies as family members! 😸

Every bit as much in their own way, certainly. Thanks!

Great photo Mick and nice poetry. Housesitting for a couple of cats at the moment so can relate to the acrobatics although the kitten here generally crashes into things and ends up tumbling to the floor.

Hah! Obviously young acrobat still undergoing training! Thanks, Jonno.
