I’ve never seen a chestnut, at least that I’m aware of. This is a lovely rendering of them. I like the contrast between that prickly husk and the smoothness of the nut.

These ones are Spanish Chestnuts, what we know as sweet Chestnut. I’m pretty sure they’re found in the US, although they’re native to Southern Europe and Western Asia.

Very nice! I cannot see a prickly chestnut husk without thinking about walking home from school with all the kids tossing them at each other.

Ah, we must have all done that! Best not to think about the other things we chucked at each other, though.

Ive never tasted chestnuts but this painting of them and the autumnal colours of the leaves, definitely whets my appetite. Lovely!

Thanks, Aditya. I’m trying to get back into it at the moment – I’ve not been painting much for some while.
